Blue Butterfly Delphinium

This dwarf bush variety of delphinium is one of my favorite summer flowers... brilliant blue flowers atop feathery stems. Its light structure means that it sways in even the slightest summer breeze. I tried to show this airiness in the quilt by leaving large open areas and using outward moving quilting lines to keep the viewer's eye moving around the piece.
Techniques: Machine pieced, machine quilted
Materials: Cotton fabrics & batting, cotton, polyester and rayon threads
