The centrepiece of this quilt is what is called a "whole cloth quilt" and is quite a break from my usual multi-pieced creations, an experiment in dye-painting. The image is hand-painted and then very heavily quilted to add another layer of colour variation and shading. I found the amarylis bloom a wonderful kaleidoscope of colour to play with.

Technique: Hand-dyed/painted, machine quilted
Materials: Halcyon fabric dyes, cotton fabric & batting, polyester, rayon & cotton threads
