Wild Rose was inspired by Alberta's 100th Anniversary. The more I studied it the more I was awed by it. The rose is delicate yet surprisingly resilient. In this piece I have chosen to include the buds, flowers, and hips, in other words all the seasons; this is what is known as "artistic license"! I found the structure of each of the different stages of the rose beautiful in its own way and complimentary to its neighbour -- nature somehow always knows.

Techniques: Machine pieced, machine quilted
Materials: Cotton fabrics, cotton and rayon threads
