On this, my daughter’s first ever trip to the beach, the ocean seemed as full of life and excitement as she. The rhythmic motion of the tide and the shimmering ripples along
the water’s surface seemed to be mirrored in my daughter’s delight and play. In order to capture this movement and translate it to a flat surface I used changes in value as well
as variations in both the texture and size of the pieces.

Techniques: Machine pieced, machine quilted
Materials: Cotton fabrics, cotton and rayon threads
